About SHS
Background
SHS is a non-profit organization developed out of the identified need to maintain and improve the home condition of elderly, disabled, veterans and other underserved low-income populations. The organization's labor force is made up of citizens who have difficulty gaining employment such as citizens returning from the criminal justice system , non-graduates and learning disabled. The business will dually provide needed workforce development while servicing homes of those in need. The organization will generate revenue providing full fee services to customers who are not elderly, disabled or veterans. Discounted or complimentary services will be provided to the select customers with the assistance of a volunteer supplemented workforce. Teams made up of qualified leads who will train unskilled team members. Unskilled workers acquire skills while offsetting labor costs for partner organizations as apprentices on larger, critical repair projects (e.g. roofing).

our story
Born and raised in Washington, NC, we are known as the “Chapman twins”. The organization was birthed out of our personal experience in helping our aging mother repair her home. This motivated us to relieve others in the community of these same barriers.
